My Mind Is So Small

We do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs to deep for words.  Romans 8:26

When I do not know what I want, when I don’t have the capacity to know what is good for me or my neighbour. When I don’t know what to ask God for or talk to him about, I ask the Spirit to intercede, to talk with Jesus and the Father and to hold me close in their power.  So that I may sit, proud and tall in my little boat without oars, as it moves along the wide waveless sea, on a very good journey with the Trinity ever before and around me and ever greater experiences of God’s care for me.

This is what I have found to be true, I was looking for a book that would tell me about God’s great care for me after a disappointment, there was Trevor Hudson and Stephen Bryant’s “Listening To The Groans: A Spirituality for Ministry and Mission”.  A tiny little book about the prayerful care and life of the Trinity as we and others groan.
